Aussie, Aussie, Aussie

Phew, it has been a very long time, hasn’t it? Ever since I joined Yahoo!, I have found myself finding more and more and more music. Thanks to new found friends, and special thanks to Anvi AKA Bugs for pulling me into a black hole of music. I guess that how this blog started as well, we exchanged enough music to want a blog.

I am going to feature one artist and give a list of a few more of the beautiful sounds I have heard along these six months.

I am in love with this band; it has grown on me like a creeper on an empty wall. The most interesting thing about this band is the way they use their instruments. I cannot say that I like one sound better than the other, because at every point in a song they wash over you like a new wave.

I give you The Jezabels, an Australian band, which has won me over.

I particularly love the drums; as much as I cannot pick an instrument, the drummer seems to form new patterns and styles as the song progresses.

The drums sometimes hold you hypnotized to the track and the guitar comes in like a magic wand, the piano sounds like a rainbow and the voice like hope, with lyrics like a meal for the hungry.

I have been addicted to their Sound Cloud page, as I can listen to the songs without having to pause or change or wait. But I recently found their new album posted on Youtube. Here is the first song I heard from the album Prisoner; City Girl. The rest of the songs are available on related videos, and it is my suggestion that you listen to all.

After my over dose of the limited songs on the Sound Cloud page, City Girl was like I had found rain in a drought. Beautiful violin, signature sounds and surprises from the music, the drums especially; subtle kisses form the piano.

However, I am going to leave you with a two of the songs that won my heart.

A Little Piece. I have no words to describe the perfection that this song is.

Dark Storm. Another beautiful piece of music, a great intro, which keeps you hooked. This is a song where you must pay attention to every instrument; they come together in a perfect dance with her voice to hold your attention.

In short The Jezabels are fire, who feed the hunger we have for fireworks.

You can connect on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter these details available on their website, which is linked. You can also buy the album here http://itunes.apple.com/au/artist/the-jezabels/id299025689

Discovered some kick-ass music from Treble Notes. You must listen "The Eels" if you haven't.
