Chuck the third

Well, chuck is in love with "Love love love". I heard this song ages ago during one of my frantic jaunts for good music and i loved this one song so much! I've been saving it for a special day on treble notes and here it is! :)
At first I'd have said that Tristan Prettyman is pretty much the female version of Jack Johnson. But then i think that's degrading her own potential and talent so i'll just say that;
she has an awesome voice-sultry and raspy in the right places,
the girl can play guitar-effortlessly (that's how i like it!),
and her lyrics are worth a read.

The first song i heard that had tristan in it was "Beautiful". Its a collab with another funky indie artist called G.Love (another post!). Now this song is just perfect! Its one of those songs that you love every part of! Nothin untoward, nothing that doesn't fit. And the lyrics are just so quirky but mushy...teehee! I love the video as well! Five stars! And a thumbs-up for good measure!

And since this post is about Tristan prettyman ima put up my favourite song of hers:
Love Love Love. Its difficult to describe why i like her music. There's just some music that gives you this feeling, you know. Like you're heart is swelling up with something (emotion? arteries? FAT?), i dunno. Its nice. Give it a listen. I've got two links, an acoustic version and the official video. Contrary to my usual choice, i like the studio version better.

day 3 for zero 7 (forgot to publish, sowie)

hello happy people!

today's musical-people are "Zero 7"
really mellow and soft voice, lounge feel to it.

wikipedia says they fall into the acid jazz genre. honestly i have no idea what that means, all i know is that it sounds wonderful and pulls through with a sense of a free fall.

of course also the occasional high feeling from the music.
Destiny and Home are the 2 songs i am introducing, both soft, beautifully composed songs.

the lyrics are perfect for the voice and the sound of the music.
the video for destiny is also creatively made, animated and perfect for the lyrics and sound.

now ill let you take a listen and give your reviews :)

thanku for spending time to read, link up and connect.
we would like to hear your thoughts, so drop us a few comments :)

Lyrics for Destiny

I lie awake
I've gone to ground
I'm watching porn
In my hotel dressing gown
Now I dream of you
But I still believe
There's only enough for one in this
Lonely hotel suite

The journey's long
And it feels so bad
I'm thinking back to the last day we had.
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you

When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

On a clear day
I'll fly home to you
I'm bending time getting back to you
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you

When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

I'll fly, I'll fly home
I'll fly home and I'll fly home

Flower Post 2

Hey hey hey!

I know it's been a while since I've updated this page with some of my influence but I can see that Kristofer and Shar have done their own share of sharing! (Ha ha =))
Some lovely music has been introduced and now its my turn to do the same!

My latest pick is an American jam band called Dispatch.

Dispatch was formed in 1996 and were active till 2002. It consisted of three members: Brad Corrigan (vocals, drums, guitar, percussion and harmonica), Pete Heimbold (vocals, bass and guitar), and Chad Urmston (vocals, guitar, bass, and percussion). Between the three of them, Dispatch has got an amazing variety of genres; from reggae (which is largely incorporated into their songs) to folk to ska to rock to hip-hop.

The first song that I was introduced to was called Bang Bang. The song follows an easy tune and a wonderful story with a catchy end. The singer seems to have a slight teasing tone that can't do anything but make you smile.

Dispatch also explores realms of love and pain in their songs.
Headlights is a song soulfully sung to a lover. A plea of sorts that makes your heart ache.

And then *drumrull* we have Carry You. This song is more wistful and makes you sway along. Simple and short, it takes you into your own world.

One of my personal favorites is a song with a strong African-Folk influence called Elias. There happens to be an amazing story behind this song. Dispatch has a non-profit organization, The Elias Fund, for the Zimbabwaen youth in regards to education. The idea came about in 1994 when Chad Urmston stayed in Zimbabwe for a while and met Elias, a gardener who became the inspiration and namesake to this particular song. Elias dreamed that his sons, Honest and Manuel, would one day have the opportunity further their education. This dream became the corner stone of the Elias fund and of the beautiful and most popular song by Dispatch.

I'm going to end this post with this song and story and hope you enjoy this band! Easy listening, soulful music, wistful pleas and inspirational stories packed into one band!

P.S. Also check out their other songs such as The General (lyrics), Flying Horses (lyrics), Passerby (lyrics) and Out Loud (lyrics) to name a few!

Enjoy yourselves and keep things happy!

Peace and much love
